Running the Race of Life

We had this idea that we wanted to see the Detroit Pistons play in Detroit. Tara had family there as well as in Cleveland, so we decided it would be fun to make the rounds for the playoffs. We decided to see if Jim and Sue wanted to come along, so we called them out of the blue and asked. They weren’t sure at first, as they had to see about getting a baby sitter for their youngest, but would get back to us. Then we thought about who else we might be able to get, and we tossed around a few names. Oscar was a big basketball fan, but we weren’t sure what his work schedule might be. Then Tara thought of a few of her friends who might be able to get away. Most of them were self employed, so they had some degree of flexibility in their schedules. So we were getting together this little group that would follow the playoffs around. Then the question became how to get there: to fly or to drive somehow. I called to get some quotes from several airlines, as we now had a group of people that we were traveling with, and sometimes special rates apply. We checked with the airlines, but they were not getting back to us.
