Running the Race of Life

I dated a girl that was from Tampa Bay for just over two years after I graduated from college. I met Allison at a Cubs game in Chicago, when the Cubs were playing the Devil Rays for interleague play. It turned out she lived right near me in the city now, and that she worked at one of the bars near Wrigley where a couple other girls I knew worked. What a small world! Allison’s father came up to visit last November. He is a very prominent Tampa bankruptcy attorney, as well as being a very large, imposing figure. I was very intimidated to meet him for the first time. It turns out that he was a really great guy. His visit ended up being perfectly timed. We all went to the Bears versus Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game. We talked a lot of trash, and had a great time. I had an even better time, since the Bears won. Even though Allison and I are not together anymore, whenever a Chicago team plays one of the Tampa Bay teams, her father and I still talk trash. It is too bad things did not work out between Allison and I, because her father and I get along so well.
